Big Mountain Run?

I plan on riding down there from Chicago (if my bikes good) and wanted to know if anyone else is? I have the 13th thru the 22nd off so I wanted to maybe go easy on the bike and do it two days there two days back. My shovel hasn't been on the road since 1987 so I don't wanna push it too hard.
