I had such a good time in Sturgis, one of the best times of my life. If you have never made the trip, do not trust the rumors. Check it out for yourself.

Good Ol' Days Race track at the Limp Nickie Lot (Broken Spoke County Line, Sturgis SD)

We hit the track pretty much every night the week of the Rally. All I can say is "Holy Shit!" Seemed like the best time was when everyone had a few too many drinks and was willing to get a little sketchy. Had a great time!

Teach on the 1947 knuck and Kid Kurpius on the iron Long Chop gettin hot on the dirt

I can tell you one thing, Teach is not shy about getting dirty with the knuck. I have been halfway across the country with the guy a few times. Props Kid needs a little more practice, but gave it a valliant effort. You should see this bike in action for yourself. You would freak seeing how he rides it.

Cycle Source ride "Barrell Racing"

Here I am getting my ass kicked by a horse in the Barrell Racing final. Jay Allen can really ride a horse. That damn thing beat me out of the hole and was to the Barrell in what seemed to be three steps. Just goes to show why cowboys and ranch hands keep the horses around.
World Champion AMD Bike. Rambler international. If you knew what went into this bike your would shit your pants. Congrats Dave!
Getting ready to show that Knuckle what a Shovel can do!

Grand Champion barrel Racer! Yep thats me.

Dave Cook and JP (The man behind Cook Customs, great mind. Gotta resect that guy)

The man the myth the ledgand Mr. Roadside Marty with his wonderful co-pilot Heyltje

Ryan and Jeremy repping the Jr's Cycle Products T-Shirts
Finally hooked up with Kid Kurpius. Ruling on the long chopper. Sure can ride the shit out of that thing. Dirt or pavement, Power slides, jumps and much more. Have to ride next to him in order to experiance the kid.

BArrel racing

What can I say? Coolest bike ever!

Awwwww

Let the mayhem begin!

Hooked up Mr. Finch at Colleens Gallery Night. Drank a little too much Bubbly. Had a great time. Ron is a cool dude. Gave him a half link so he could stretch the indians legs a little bit.
Teach out on the class bike making Sugar Bear proud.

The mini bikes were a big hit. Hot laps through the bar make for an interesting night.

Could not pass up the opportunity to take my lovely gal for a spin.

I have done a little partying in my day, but when you get to Sturgis and the Broken Spoke, party becomes a way of life. Ride during the day, recover at night then when bar close hits the real party begins. The weird thing is that even though you say "I will never do that again", you always end up doing the same thing all over again. Not sure if it is the atmosphere or if it is the combination of good people wanting to have a good time mixed with a venue that will let you do what ever you want. Jay Allen is a righteous dude. If you ever get a chance to grab him and rattle his brain, DO IT! A wealth of knowledge as well as a top notch dude. Really into the young guys "Bringing it Back" We get along great.

Carl and Matt's

Showed up at Carl's and were immediately put to work. The catch was that were put to work on rare and very expensive knuckle and panheads. Pretty cool! Speaking of cool, Carl is has a lot of history under his belt and it was an honor to work and ride with him. He set me up with a clutch and a new "speed slip" and he referred to it. Carl has passed his love of motorcycles, Knuckleheads in particular to his son Matt. Another top notch guy. Very smart and generous. He let Stacy and I take a ride on his 1936 Knuckle! Holy shit! One of the rarest motorcycles in the world. Not a prob. I was honored. As we were getting ready to roll out, Carl would head to the "other garage" as if the two other were not enough to get what turned out to be two original paint Knuckleheads (2 of 4), his girl Ruby and one other knuck in order to ride them out to Sturgis. Ended up leaving with 5 knucks that day. The man, the myth the legend Chris Callen showed up with Ross (Kiwi Mikes Son). Good to see those guys. Chris was cheery as always on his demo ride from the factory. Perks of owning a bitchin rag. Ross (all of 15 years old) was close in tow on his very nice indian him and his dad put together. I think I made it to about 3 am, the other guys were out there till about 4. Time flys when you are having fun. Kevin scored some original 47' chrome knuck tanks as well as a dash and a lesson on how to install new style points on a knuckle from the master himself. Carl, Matt and Deb were very gracious hosts and I will defiantly be back there soon.. Thanks guys!

Sturgis 2009

Well, what can I say about sturgis? I guess I could ramble on about how there are to many credit card bagger riders, but to be honest with you if you know the ins and outs and hang out the caliber of people who congregate at the Limp Nickie lot, than baggers are the furthest things from your mind. I can honestly say that I had one of the best time of my life this year in Sturgis! As some of you know I have faired a lot worse in others years. One year in particular when I lost one of the coolest guys I knew to a drunk wielding a knife. I know that Frank is out there and he would have been proud of us this year! R.I.P. Frank! So I left on an aw some Thursday afternoon rolling solo. Have not rode solo for any distance in a while. Had a great time! Took my own route at my own pace. A little soul searching. Dodged clouds all day was rained on four or five time with just enough time in between to completely dry off. Did not bother me one bit. Have to roll with the punches when you are exposed to the elements. Made it to Teach's house well before dark. Let the drinking begin! Dont have any pics of my visit to the Baas residence, but I assure you we had a good time. With the boys running circles arounds on there power wheels to Kevins dog doing the 2 step due to one to many PBR's. Good shit!

Left Kevins in the morning headed to Aberdeen South Dakota. Carl's Cycle service or bust. Had a great ride out. Awesome weather, had one little stretch of hail, but hey we were in the plains. I dont know if I can explain the weather out there. Guess you will have to experience it yourself. Good-Luck. All I can say is do not take the thunder storms to lightly. After watching the shovel get pummeled by hail for a while. We decided to motor on. Made it to Matt and Carls by the end of the day. Another good ride. Total of about 700 miles so far.
